Those who have made the trip to Itamo VI – Moon 8 to see our mighty Deathstar POS will have noticed the name has recently changed to “Toby Baxter’s Vault”. Our CEO Carlos Warren took the time to explain why this change was enacted
One of my favourite episodes of Hustle (Season 5, Episode 4 – Diamond Seeker) featured a character named Toby Baxter. He is a 220 IQ chess grandmaster recluse who never leaves his large mansion. He has a high security vault under his house that the Hustle crew need to break into. When the team leader Mickey asks about the security of the vault, we learn just how seriously Baxter takes security.
“It’s a bunker. Two feet thick of reinforced concrete. The only way through it is a sprung titanium door operated by fingerprint recognition. And if that wasn’t enough, there are two backups.
The first is a four-digit code which changes every 30 minutes. Each sequence is radioed out from the manufacturers in Zurich. And if you can’t hack that, there’s a voice recognition system linked to the main alarm. And it can tell the difference between human vocal cords and a recorded voice.”
As this extensive security setup is explained to him, Mickey sighs with exasperation at how annoyingly difficult this job will be. The team realize they can’t beat the security of his vault, and have to come up with a plan to social engineer their way into the vault. I don’t want to spoil the ending in case anyone wants to go watch that episode, but it’s a good episode and it features Patrick Bergin as the much hyped Toby Baxter.
Anyway – how does this relate to our deathstar?
Just like Baxter made his vault virtually impregnable to attack, my aim is to make our deathstar POS virtually undefeatable. I want anyone thinking of attacking it to sigh with the same sense of defeat and frustrating Mickey did upon realizing how secure Baxter’s vault was. I also see a bit of myself in Toby Baxter, not the mansion, or the love diamonds, but his high IQ and him being a bit of a recluse (I don’t go out much socially). So I decided to rename the POS as a nod to his character.
